Love is my mantra
Creativity, my tool
Silliness, my mode of operation.
As an artist, writer, poet, performer, energy collaborator and
active
life participant, I believe each and every individual has the power to
grow,
develop and transcend. To this end, I
make it my personal and professional business to share joy, hope and the
importance of due diligence.
Therapeutically, I use all of these to assist individuals and
families in developing functional, empowering strategies to employ
positive change and support continued growth.
I am remarkably blessed to be the vehicle to introduce my
daughter,
Seraphina, to this earth. We can be
found hula hooping in our front yard, traipsing through a creek
(pronounced
"crick") with our dachshund, Jack; or cuddled up on the couch with our
cat,
Boompsie, watching So You Think You Can
Dance.
I am thrilled to join the New Roots family and am committed to
growing
right along with it.
Angelina is a recent graduate of
Binghamton University, receiving her MSW and her MA in Social Science.
After completing her BS in Communication and
Women's Studies from SUNY Oneonta, she started her career in Harlem and
appeared on "60
Minutes" with STRIVE, a behaviorally based, job preparedness program.
From there, Angelina
continued to serve youth as an educator, mentor and counselor throughout
the five boroughs, Philadelphia and
Baltimore.
After returning to Upstate NY in 2004, she
shared her message of hope and personal responsibility with individuals
at the
Broome County Correctional Facility and then at Lansing Residential
Center for
Girls. It was her work at Lansing that
inspired Angelina to return to school for her MSW. This
past year as a Harford Fellow, Angelina
developed an In-Home Therapeutic Support program for home bound seniors
in
Tioga County. Though she enjoyed working
with her elders, she is just tickled to return to high school.
